Battlefield 2 1.50 Patch News	02/09/2009 02:01hrs	Steel Rat
Just released is the latest patch for Battlefield 2. Patch 1.5 installs the "Highway Tampa" map and also a brand new map called "Blue Pearl". It also makes available the data disks "Euro Force" and "Armored Fury" free. Visit the download area for links.
Battlefield 2142 1.50 Patch News	02/04/2008 00:25hrs	Steel Rat
EA are soon to release a 1.50 patch for Battlefield 2142. It will include two new maps, those being Wake Island and Operation Shingle. It will also introduce Infantry Only functions to some maps. Widescreen video settings will now be available.

Members continue to play Battlefield 2, very few continue to play Battlefield 2142 now although on occasion it is played by some. Call of Duty 4 has not taken off within the clan as many do not have powerful enough PC's to run it well. There have been some rumours about Battlefield 3 recently and we are keen to find out more.

On 7th December 2007 Infinity Ward have released a second patch for Call Of duty 4. Patch 1.3 again it can be found in the downloads area.

Infinity Ward have released a patch for Call Of duty 4. Patch 1.2 which resolves a glitch. Its only 13.8Mb and can be found in the downloads area.

COD4 is out! I have played it and am suitably impressed .... although at the moment I am the only =SE= member who can run it. Members are looking to upgrade their PC's over the coming months to be able to play it but I can see us still supporting the battlefield series for some time.

It is still with disbelief that I bring you this sad news. Phil (Punksta) has recently died. I went to the funeral on Monday joined by Mark (Sponge), Kevin (Ming), Noel (Squidy) & Colin (GIJoe). Rest in peace Punksta, king of the skies.

The Northern Strike explansion for BF2142 is currently set for release in March 2007. It will include 3 new maps, 2 new vehicles and new awards and unlocks. There will be more urban combat in the game.

EA have released a new patch for BF2142. Version 1.10 which is 32.7Mb. Visit the download page to get it.The following are the most important changes within the patch .... "The maximum rate of fire has been increased on both the EU and PAC pistols. The pistol bullets' damage over distance has also been tweaked to allow for a slightly larger ideal range. Players should find the handgun's effectiveness as a close range panic weapon to be greatly improved. A bug that caused camouflaged players in medium to long range situations to be more visible than originally intended has been fixed." There have also been a number of other game bugs resolved with the new patch.

After buggering up Patch 1.05 EA have released a quick fix for it encompassed in this new patch 1.06. Visit the download page to get it. Here is what they say about it .... "This update addresses a crash issue that some player experience at the end of a round in Titan Mode. Following the v1.05 Update for Battlefield 2142, some players have experienced crashes at the end of the round when playing in Titan mode. The crash occurs under a certain circumstance while the Titan explosion is taking place. Today we are releasing a hot fix, Update v1.06, which corrects this problem. No other changes are introduced in this Update".

EA have released a new patch for BF2142. Version 1.05 which is 21.7Mb. The following are the most important changes within the patch .... "Fixed an exploit with using the Air Transport to gain points at an unnatural rate; Fixed the issue that prevented players from reviving team mates in a moving Titan; Titans will stop moving once the Titan shield go down".

Electronic Arts have released a 17Mb patch for the forthcoming BF2142. In a way this is a good sign because it proves that the game has been made and will hopefully be in the shops on time. Get the patch via the EA downloader program. Alternatively I will add a link on the Download page soon.

The release of Battlefield 2142 has been put back by one week. The current release date is now 20th October. All Steel Eagle members intend to purchase BF2142. The long awaited BattleField 2 version 1.4 patch has been released. The most notable changes are - New level: Road to Jalalabad - Increased server stability (thank god!) - Introduced a delay from proning to standing to help reduce exploiting - Adjusted C4 to make throwing more difficult - Transport Helicopters – Increased the armor of all transport helicopters.
